This paper deals with the collaborative economy – an increasingly quickly developing phenomenon. The author indicates the complexity and diversity of the activities that are understood under this notion, as well as terminological problems associated with them. Factors determining the development of this concept and typical forms of implementation have been discussed. The paper also includes an analysis of both positive and negative processes that can occur in the economy as a result of popularization of collaborative consumption.
