The aim of this study was to determine the bestmoment to stock trout,Salmo truttaL., larvae into the wild. This goal was accomplished by determining weekly changesin the growth parameters of larvae that were fed in sevenvariants: on the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the firstweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the secondweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the thirdweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the fourthweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the fifthweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption; from the sixthweek after the day of 2/3 yolk sac resorption. Based on ourresults, we concluded the following: 1) trout larvae are readyto start eating at the time of the resorption of 2/3 of the yolksac; 2) trout larvae can live without food for three weeksfollowing the resorption 2/3 of the yolk sac without anynotable losses; 3) the best moment to stock trout larvae intothe wild is in the period from the resorption of 2/3 of the yolksac to the third week after this resorption, so one week afterfull resorption. This is the optimal period to stock any waterswith trout larvae.
