It is a well-known fact that prostitution is as old as a society. However, prostitution has been performed for ages. The phenomenon itself can be viewed from different points of view. The aim of the article was to show prostitution in a port city as negative, harmful social phenomenon connected with the underworld. Various forms of exploitation of the prostitution have been emphasized, i.e. pimping, procurement or facilitation of prostitution which are integral parts of prostitution.
