Rozprawa doktorska podejmuje problematykę środowiskowego uwarunkowania rozmieszczenia fauny wodopójek (Hydrachnidia) w dwóch jeziorach (Osiek i Lipie) o odmiennej trofii.
Celem rozprawy było porównanie charakteru zgrupowań fauny wodopójek zamieszkującej mezotroficzne jezioro Lipie i eutroficzne jezioro Osiek pod względem: bioróżnorodności, struktury dominacji, fenologii, rozmieszczenia w misie jeziornej; oraz zbadanie zależności struktur faunistycznych od charakterystyk środowiskowych i parametrów fizykochemicznych wód.
W rozdziale dotyczącym opisu terenu skupiono się na ogólnej charakterystyce geograficznej i gospodarczej, zanieczyszczeniach osadów, wodach podziemnych i powierzchniowych obu jezior. Podano podstawowe dane morfometryczne jezior, ich dokładne usytuowanie i opis najbliższej okolicy.
W rozdziale dotyczącym materiałów i metod przedstawiono metodykę poboru prób, dokładne lokalizacje i opis wszystkich stanowisk. Zawarto sposób ekstrakcji i oznaczania roztoczy. Wyszczególniono również parametry środowiskowe oraz metody, którymi podjęto próbę określenia trofii badanych jezior. Na końcu opisano zastosowane w pracy analizy statyczne.
Rozdział z wynikami zawiera scharakteryzowaną trofię, strukturę fauny wodopójek, dynamikę zmian sezonowych, rozmieszczenie w profilu pionowym, rozmieszczenie względem siedlisk, gatunki reliktowe i wskaźniki oligo-mezotrofii, NMDS, wskaźnik Shannnon’a-Wiener’a, metodę rarefakcji oraz korelację rang Spearman’a.
W ostatnim rozdziale przedyskutowano otrzymane wyniki z całą pozyskaną literaturą krajową i zagraniczną.
The doctoral dissertation deals with the issue of environmental determinants of the distribution of water mite fauna (Hydrachnidia) in two lakes (Osiek and Lipie) with different trophies.
The aim of the dissertation was to compare the nature of water mite fauna assemblages inhabiting mesotrophic Lake Lipie and eutrophic Lake Osiek in terms of: biodiversity, dominance structure, phenology, distribution in the lake basin; and examining the dependence of fauna structures on environmental characteristics and physicochemical parameters of waters.
The chapter on the description of the site focuses on the general geographical and economic characteristics, pollution of sediments, groundwater and surface waters of both lakes. The basic morphometric data of the lakes, their exact location and description of the immediate vicinity are given.
The chapter on materials and methods presents the sampling methodology, exact locations and descriptions of all sites. A method for extraction and determination of mites is included. The environmental parameters and methods used to determine the trophy of the studied lakes were also specified. At the end, the static analyzes used in the work are described.
The results section includes characterized trophy, water mite fauna structure, dynamics of seasonal changes, vertical profile distribution, habitat distribution, relict species and oligo-mesotrophy indices, NMDS, Shannnon-Wiener index, rarefaction method and Spearman's rank correlation.
In the last chapter, the obtained results were discussed with all the domestic and foreign literature obtained.
At the end, the obtained results were summarized by verifying the hypotheses. In the light of the analyzes carried out, the structure of water mite assemblages is shaped by the lake's trophy, as is the species composition, and in particular the presence of post-glacial relics. The characteristics of water mite assemblages depend on the habitat and physico-chemical parameters of water, e.g. oxygen content, pH and temperature. The seasons clearly affect the species diversity of water mites in the lake profile. The thermocline, on the other hand, affects the distribution of water mites in the lake profile, limiting the migration of small-reservoir species to the deeper parts of the lake and lake species to the shallower zones of the reservoir.
