The aim of this article was to analyse how the process of changing the seasons influenced the communication in the gardeners’ milieu. The research was based on the texts published on Instagram during spring and summer. The accounts that were visited are focusing on the plant cultivation. The article was written from the pragmalinguistic point of view and the methodology was mostly rooted in the speech act theory. The key elements of the research concentrated on the illocutionary purposes of speech acts, on the linguistic means of communication and the context of the quoted speeches. It has been proved that the majority of the speech acts published in the spring belonged to two categories: informative and directive acts whilst during the summer the emotive acts and the acts of boasting are the most common.
